This month, we have several special opportunities for our students to shine and for families to get involved:

Kindergarten Musical
Earth Day Contest: Get Creative!
It’s time to get crafty for our annual Earth Day Contest! This year, we are challenging our Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st-grade students to take common household recyclables and reinvent them into something new with a Circus Theme.
These amazing "Recycled Acts" will be displayed in the gym during the Kindergarten Musical, which shares the same theme!
🗓️ Important Dates
- April 13th: You may begin bringing in completed projects.
- April 15th: Deadline to submit projects (end of day) to ensure they are displayed for the musical.
- April 20th–24th (Earth Week): School-wide voting takes place and winners will be announced!
🎪 Project Details
The Goal: Use items like milk jugs, egg cartons, or cardboard rolls to create something circus-themed (think animals, clowns, tents, or performers!).
The Entry Form: Please fill out and attach the certificate found on the back of the flyer. We need the student’s name, teacher, and a quick project description.
The Prizes: Every participant receives a circus-themed sticker scene, and contest winners will receive a special prize!
LWSRA Wheelchair Basketball Event
Get ready—one of our very impactful community events is making a return! After three years, we are thrilled to partner once again with the Lincoln Way Special Recreation Association (LWSRA) for an evening of competition, community, and awareness.
The Main Event:
When: April 23rd, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Where: Oak Prairie Gym
Beyond the Game: PE Takeovers will lead up to the big night. D92 students will participate in "PE Takeovers,” led by LWSRA. These sessions give students the chance to experience adaptive sports firsthand, building real-world awareness and empathy for the disability community.
Why It Matters: The game on April 23rd is more than just a matchup—it’s a fundraiser for LWSRA. They provide vital support to students and adults with disabilities across the Chicagoland area.
How to Get Involved: Whether you’re ready to hop in a chair and play or you’d rather cheer from the bleachers, we want you there.
